Harvest

I just finished a book called Harvest by Tess Gerritsen. It was AMAZING, I am still thinking about it! It is about human organ harvesting and the organs of little orphans being sold on the black market to rich people. The main girl in it Dr. Abby Matteo is dating on of the other surgeons and she starts to ask questions and starts figuring out things aren't exactly what she thinks. They go to other countries and get these little boys, tell them they are going to be adopted in America, keep them on a boat in the middle of the ocean and when someone comes up needing an organ and has one of their blood types they take them and do the surgery on the boat and get the organ helicopter flighted to the person that needs it. It arrives and their is no trace of where the organ came from and who the donor was. Abby figures out one of her patients was third on the list and all of a sudden she was getting a new heart at midnight the next day and she couldn't figure out how or where the organ really came from. The patients husband paid 5 million dollars for his wife to get a 12 year old boys heart. I just can't imagine living in a world like this but I know things like this really happen and things much worse. It was such a good book, but it did scare me a little and opened my eyes. I totally recommend this book if you like suspense and not knowing what is about to happen next.
